Maid was married to rich employer who died later
An Indonesian woman who came to Saudi Arabia to work as a domestic servant became a millionaire when her rich Saudi employer married her and left her nearly SR20 million (Dh20 million; $5.45 million) after his death.
The maid arrived in the Gulf Kingdom nearly a decade ago and worked for the old Saudi man in the Western town of Taif for nearly two years before he decided to marry her, the Arabic language daily Ajel said.
“But the marriage did not last long as the man died later…he left behind a vast investment empire for his wife and other family members,” it said.
“After nearly eight years, the court decided to sell all his property at the request of his family….it fetched nearly SR300 million, of which the Indonesian woman was granted SR20 million.”
