The History of Putra Laweyan Batik Establishment

The History of Putra Laweyan Batik establishment began from the establishment of Bintang Mulya Batik Company on 1967. This company produced traditional handmade batik fabrics and located at Sayangan Wetan Rt.07 Rw.I Laweyan Solo. Caused of less profit and always decreased made this company stopped the production on 1979. It also triggered by the appearing of printed batik that had more efficient production process and cheaper price than handmade batik.

On 1981, Bintang Mulya Batik Company reborn with name Cahaya Putra Batik Company. The effort to increase the production result was to produce batik fabrics with modern motif or new style to meet customer’s need. After Cahaya Putra Batik Company grew, the son of this Cahaya Putra Batik’s owner started to open a small industry that worked on batik production,too on 1990. This small industry located not far from Cahaya Putra Batik Company. This small industry increased year by year, so then formed a company named CV Batik Putra Laweyan on 2000, and got Company Legal Permit No. : 517/0660/PK/VI/2006.
